Aftercare

To help you get the best results and support your recovery, please follow these aftercare guidelines.

Immediately after your appointment:

Avoid water and heat for at least 2–4 hours after gel or BIAB application - this helps the products fully cure and set.
Be gentle with your hands. Avoid using nails as tools to pick, open, or scrape.
Wear gloves when washing dishes, cleaning, gardening, or using chemicals to prevent lifting or discoloration.

Ongoing nail care:

Hydrate cuticles daily with cuticle oil to nourish the nail bed and extend the life of your manicure.
Moisturize your hands regularly to prevent dryness and maintain skin health.
Avoid picking or peeling gel or polish - this can damage your natural nails and cause thinning.
Book regular infills or removals (usually every 2–3 weeks) to prevent lifting, cracking, or breakage.
Avoid cutting cuticles yourself, as this can lead to infections. Leave this to your nail technician.

For gel, BIAB, or extensions:

Avoid prolonged soaking in hot water (e.g. baths, saunas), which can weaken the bond.
Do not file or clip nails yourself - this can cause breaks or product lifting.
Use non-acetone polish remover if you need to remove polish at home (but professional removal is always recommended).

Signs you may need a maintenance appointment:

Lifting or chipping of gel
Growth gap of more than 3 weeks
Pain, redness, or signs of infection around the nail
Snagged or cracked extensions

How should I prepare for my nail appointment?

Arrive with clean hands and bare nails if possible. If you have existing gel or extensions, let us know in advance so we can allow time for safe removal.

Should I remove old polish before my appointment?

It’s helpful, but not required. If you need removal of gel or extensions, please book the correct add-on service to ensure enough time is allocated.

During the appointment:

How long does a nail appointment take?

Timing depends on the service:

Classic manicure: 30–45 mins
Gel polish: 45–60 mins
BIAB or extensions: 1–1.5 hours
Infills or removals may add extra time.

Depending if you want a luxury manicure with either paraffin wax or heated mittens , this would add an extra 15- 20 minutes to the duration.

Can I get nail art?

Absolutely! Please mention this when booking, as detailed designs may require additional time or consultation.
